Joanne M. Jensen, D.D.S., M.S. Pleasant Hill Endodontist
Joanne was born in Palo Alto and grew up in Santa Cruz, California. She went to UC Berkeley for undergraduate schooling, majoring in Biochemistry. Upon graduation, Joanne worked as a research scientist for three years, developing several patented techniques which were used to help develop Tide Ultra II. In 1999 she began her journey into the dental profession by enrolling in the University of the Pacific Dental School. After graduating in 2002 as a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society (the Phi Beta Kappa of Dentistry), Joanne completed a general practice residency at Ohio State University. There, Joanne gained valuable experience in medically compromised patients as well as continuing to focus on all aspects of dentistry. She quickly realized that endodontics was her passion and entered into the specialty program at the Ohio State University as well. She earned an endodontic certificate and her Masters of Science in 2005. The endodontic program at Ohio State University takes pride in being the leader in pain management and local anesthesia research. Her master’s thesis project involved evaluating the anesthetic efficacy of a repeated intraosseous injection using the X-tip® system given 30 minutes following a primary intraosseous injection. Joanne now resides in Moraga with her son, Peter. She likes to hike and enjoys the outdoors, in addition to spending time with her family and friends.
